New Formulation. Now Suitable for Vegans. 1 month’s supply. A premium quality, antioxidant “booster” formulation, specially designed for use as a combination product alongside Vitamen or any other good quality mutivitamin and mineral supplement. Please note: Vitamen Boost 1 has been designed to work in combination with Vitamen and is not intended to be used as a stand-alone alternative.

What is it?

  • Vitamen Boost contains antioxidants which neutralise damaging substances called ‘free radicals’, which have been linked to poor sperm quality such as low count, low motility and a high number of mis-shapen sperm
  • High levels of free radicals may increase the time it takes to get pregnant, and are believed to be one important factor in male infertility
  • Modern diets and lifestyles, as well as increasing age, lead to increased free radical production, increasing the demand for antioxidants. Although we can get antioxidants from vegetables, salads and fruits, the body’s natural antioxidant systems may benefit from additional support from a supplement

Who is it for?

Men who are trying for a baby, especially if they:

  • Are aged 35 or over
  • Don’t eat as much veg, salad and fruit as they should
  • Smoke
  • Drink alcohol
  • Work-out

What’s In It?

  • Vitamen Boost contains a wide range of important antioxidants such as vitamins C and E, Zinc, Selenium and Manganese, as well as Alpha Lipoic acid, N-acetyl Cysteine and Resveratrol, combined with natural antioxidant extracts (Pomegranate, Bilberry, Watercress, Pine Bark and Mixed Berries).

Contents – 90 capsules (1 month’s supply)

Oxidative Stress and Male Infertility/Sub-fertility: There is growing evidence to support a link between oxidative stress and male infertility and sub-fertility. Reactive oxygen species (ROS) such as hydrogen peroxide, hydroxyl radicals and superoxide anions are generated by human sperm as part of their normal metabolism, and this increases with age. At low levels ROS enhance sperm, however, if the production of ROS is excessive, then oxidative stress can occur (also known as free radical damage), leading to a possible negative pathological effect on the sperm. This can include such things as abnormal morphology (shape), impaired motility and increased DNA fragmentation, all of which can impair fertilisation and adversely affect blastocyst development and pregnancy rates after IVF. Elevated ROS levels are also correlated with an increased time to conceive naturally.

Recent studies have suggested that there is a significant increase in ROS levels and a reduced antioxidant capacity in infertile men compared with fertile controls, irrespective of semen parameters. Roughly 25% – 40% of infertile men are thought to have high levels of ROS. There are many potential causes of elevated ROS levels. Genito-urinary tract infections, Prostatitis, vasectomy reversal, chemical pollutants and occupational hazards can all be contributory causes, as can smoking, alcohol and excessive exercise or exposure to heat.

Vitamen BOOST contains an extremely wide range of important antioxidants such as Vitamin E, Zinc, Selenium and Manganese, as well as Alpha Lipoic Acid, N-Acetyl Cysteine and Resveratrol, combined with natural antioxidant extracts (Pomegranate, Bilberry, Watercress, Pine Bark and Mixed Berries) to help to protect cells, such as spermatozoa, from oxidative stress during the reproductive cycle.

The Vitamen Range consists of:

Vitamen – a premium multivitamin and mineral supplement specifically developed to include the most important nutrients required to support male reproduction

Vitamen Boost – an antioxidant formula for use alongside Vitamen to help protect sperm DNA from oxidative damage

Vitamen Boost 2 – an Amino Acid powder with Zinc and Selenium to provide important nutrients involved with sperm count, motility and morphology

We recommend Vitamen Boost alongside Vitamen to men who would like help in combating the potential adverse effects of oxidative stress, the likelihood of which increases with age and alongside both Vitamen and Vitamen Boost 2 to men who would like extra support for sperm generally

Directions For Use:

One capsule should be taken three times a day with food, ideally for at least 3 months prior to conception. Should only be taken on a full stomach. Vitamen Boost is suitable for vegetarians. It is free from artificial colours, preservatives, gluten and yeast. Non-GM.
